Some days back i was working on
my performance project using RPT Tool. I have faced one problem which was
unique in its own way. I have created a performance schedule which was running
fine but no graphs were appearing RPT controller. RPT agents were configured
across the network. Then again checked using monitor feature and i found out
that graphs of users belongs to RPT controller are appearing correctly.
At conclusion, i came to know
there is some problem between communication of RPT controller and agents. I
checked with “Test connection” and confirmed that agents are working fine.
There is another way to check
that agents are communicating properly with RPT controller.
Step 1: Download "RPTAgentTest.jar" or you can get this file also IBM support team (if you are having support for RPT )
Step 2: Place the “RPTAgentTest.jar”
on the RPT controller machine.
Step 3: Go to the
command prompt
Step 4: Type “java -cp .\RPTAgentTest.jar
RPTAgentTester <NameOfAgent>” and
press Enter
Where <NameOfAgent> is
name of agent.
After pressing “Enter”, As
result appears as local computer name and IP address,
Step 5: Press “Enter
“again.
Now as result a message should
appear saying connected successfully with particular port mentioned in “Window Preferences”
option.
Please note that if there is
any problem with communication, then “Time out” message appears in CMD.
Happy Testing!!!!!!!!!!!!
